High speed, high precision 3D printing solution
When you need to supplement or replace injection mould tooling in the plastic manufacturing process, Figure 4 135 offers faster, more flexible and cost-efficient production for both prototyping and low-to-mid volume batch production for end-use parts.
By directly manufacturing small plastic end-use parts, the solution eliminates weeks to months of mould tool lead times, reducing your time-to-market from weeks to days.
Engineers can rapidly prototype and adjust designs without retooling. The solution allows companies to manufacture to the highest levels of precision and repeatability, whether prototypes, small batches, custom parts, bridge production and on-demand replacement parts. And all without the overhead of tool costs or inventory management.

Flexible Modern Manufacturing
The Figure 4 135 can deliver batch-level, true production-grade outcomes required to complement traditional manufacturing operations.
With extremely high out-of-box precision, the Figure 4 135 solution is ideal for manufacturing industries where a process capability index (CpK) of at least 1.33 or above is required for critical processes. The Figure 4 135 significantly exceeds these standards making it highly reliable for precision applications.
Whether you’re building small quantities of parts for design iteration or populating a platform with large quantities of small components, the performance and output remains consistent and repeatable across multiple printers.
Super High Part Quality
Figure 4 135 produces exceptional part quality and accuracy, a direct result of our trade secret pixel blending methods combined with precision projectors and innovative hardware configuration.
In order to guarantee best-in-class part quality, all our materials, print processes, image processing software, and printer hardware, are developed from +15yrs of 3D Systems’ print process experience with pixels, ensuring seamless integration.
3D Systems’ image processing software automatically adjusts the pixel edges with gray scaling techniques. This results in high-quality production-grade plastic parts with best-in-class surface quality.
Figure 4 Technology
The Figure 4 135 uses a projector-based imaging and non-contact membrane technology to build complex, high-resolution parts quickly. Instead of using a laser like in traditional Stereolithography (SLA), Figure 4 uses a projector array to cure an entire layer of liquid resin at once. This technology enables fast print speeds and high-resolution printing. The higher resolution projector in the Figure 4 135 improves accuracy and precision and enabling the fine details and thin walls necessary for connectors.

Manufacturing Efficiencies and Cost Savings
By complementing traditional manufacturing of small plastic parts with the Figure 4 135, additional efficiencies and cost savings can be unlocked. While mold tooling is more suited for high volume, other factors need to be accounted for including extended lead times, upfront investments costs and high costs of design changes. Once a tool is used, it then needs to be inventoried, stored, and maintained. Contrast that with a Figure 4 135 that can be used for prototyping, product development, bridge manufacturing and without limits to the number of possible SKUs produced. Hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars can be saved through supplementing a traditional manufacturing process with the Figure 4 135 solution.
