Introduction to 3D Systems
3D Systems (3DS) stands at the forefront of 3D printing innovation, having pioneered the technology since its inception in 1986. Founded by the ‘Father of 3D Printing’ Chuck Hull, who invented the world’s first 3D printer, 3DS introduced the ground-breaking SLA (StereoLithography Apparatus) technology. The company has since expanded its offerings to include a range of advanced 3D printing technologies, including CJP (colour-jet printing), MJP (multi-jet printing), DLP (digital light processing), SLS (selective laser sintering), and EXT (pellet extrusion). Headquartered in North Carolina, 3DS delivers cutting-edge solutions around the world, and is represented by CDG 3D TECH in the UK.

Are Printed Patterns Viable for Production?

In the model presented in this paper, the cost and time required to print patterns is compared to the time and cost of actual molded wax patterns for dozens of parts to determine under what conditions it will be cheaper and/ or faster to print patterns than to mold them.
Choose the Right Nylon for your Application

With dozens of commercially available variants, these nylon materials have served the market well and represent the majority of SLS material choices. Now, with the introduction of DuraForm® PAx, the industry is provided a unique nylon co-polymer that will be the base material for a new family of SLS materials.
